Award winning, London based independent jewellery designer, Vicki Purnell combines the bright colours of resin and Perspex with Swarovski crystal and silver. This unique style produces innovative designs with a distinctly unusual flair. Also available for private commission, her skilled designs include use of a variety of materials ranging from Polymers to Platinum to create unique and contemporary jewellery.

Of her work, Vicki states  I take my inspiration from natural forms, Dance Culture and the relationship of contrasting materials. Recent exhibitions have included Collections 2009 at Earls Court, Hidden Arts 2008 and London Jewellery week 2008. Her current collections are an eclectic mix demonstrating Vicki's experience having worked and studied in the jewellery industry for over 10 years.

Born in South London, Vicki has always had a love for the Creative World originally studying music at the B.R.I.T school in Selhurst. Her love for music has remained a strong influence in her life but it is her love and family background of Art & Design that has helped her to find her passion for Jewellery Design. In 1998 Vicki went to work for DeBeers in London in the Diamond Division where she stayed for four years. It was whilst working at DeBeers that Vicki decided to train as a designer and left in 2002 to study a Foundation in Art and Design at East Surrey College, graduating with a merit/distinction. In 2003, Vicki began her BA(hons) in Jewellery and Silversmithing, graduating in 2006. In Febuary 2006, Vicki was awarded the Gem-A Diamond scholarship as part of the Goldsmiths Design and Craftsmanship Awards.

Since graduating Vicki has exhibited in a number of shows, set up a workshop in Hatton Garden, recently moving over to East London to a bigger space and has been awarded a set up grant from Change Act Share part of the London Development Agency. Also a member of The Silver Apple Collective, a group of up and coming designers based in East London, 2009 looks to be an exciting year for Vicki and Purnell Jewellery.
